Course
Flat and fast on grass (about 95%) with only a short segment on pavement and gravel for the men’s race. The races will be 4 miles for men and 5k for women. This is the original course of the New Balance Festival of Champions, which was a nationally rated high school course.
From the North – Take I-205 south of Portland to Exit 10 (Park Place Exit). Go back over the freeway and take Hwy 213 south for approximately 3 miles. Take a left at the first light (Beaver Creek Rd) and get in the right hand lane. This lane will take you into the campus.
From the South – Take I-205 north, which just north of Wilsonville off I-5. Take Exit 10 (Park Place exit) which is just after the Oregon City exit. Take a right at the end of the off-ramp and take Highway 213 south for approximately 3 miles. Take a left at the first light (Beaver Creek Rd) and get in the right hand lane. This lane will take you into the campus.
Other Details
The Fall Finale 5k and Kids Fun Run will take place at Clackamas Community College. This event is FREE for all NW Running League members. It is not too late to become a member of the NW Running League. Once you sign up for this race, you automatically become a member of the running league at no extra cost.
Why have the same course as the Resolution Run 5k?
This gives everyone a chance who participated in the Resolution Run 5k (RR5k) to get a PR on this course in the same year. I am offering 10 cash prize points for everyone who ran RR5k on January 9, 2010 and gets a course PR at the Fall Finale 5k.
This is also a great opportunity for those running the Portland Marathon / Half Marathon to get the cobwebs out on a soft surface 5k course. Are you nervous for the marathon? Relax and come run this 5k and have a chance to win cash prizes.
